Hey everybody. Well, we're trying to make a few extra bucks to get us through Europe, and are looking for some feedback from whoever looks at this. We are wondering how happenen pearls are these days... There are a few pearl shops here in Shanghai that our friends here know about that sell pearls for pretty cheap. We're wondering if we send home some necklaces or bracelets with Dirk, if anybody would be interested in buying them? They have all sorts of shapes and colors, and we'd probably sell them for around $30-40US back at our house in Huntington. Our friends have lived here for 12 years and are certain that the pearls from their contact here are real... they've had them appraised back home. I donno, just curious if anybody would be interested... You can let us know by posting a comment on this blog... hey guys! When Mike went to China he loaded up on pearls for me. It looks like you can really make a killing reselling them!!
For anyone that wants a recommendation... have them pick you up a "pink" strand. Sounds funny but my favorite necklace Mike got me was a super light pink large strand. They are so feminine and beautiful. He brought home like 100 strands so I had a lot to chose from but the pink ones are the best because they are unique.
Also a few small fresh water pearl strands together make a great look too!

and you can tell if they are real by rubbing them on your teeth. if they feel gritty then they are legit!
sorry to double post but... and sorry if you have already mentioned this in past posts but I have no time to catch up...
make sure you take advantage of the killer massages there. They are like $5-$10 for an hour. Mike got one or more every day while he was there. They also went to the bath housed and lived it up like kings... The kind he got were all classy!!! non of that funny business you may have heard about!! he he! A lot of the hotels have massage services.
